I registered a domain with the search phrase in it. After a week or so, it's ranked number one in Yahoo!, while MSN followed suit. Google obviously employed the Sandbox effect that even if my site is already indexed it does not show up on SERPs. So discounting the Sandbox effect that's uniquely Google: Google >> Quality incoming links Yahoo! >> Keyword-rich URL MSN >> On-page elements While it is easier (more appropriately "faster") to rank on Yahoo! and MSN, Google should be the target search engine to optimize for, simply because more people use it than the other two.
very good post, really helps lot.I think there are few methods to skip sandbox u can try them for your site.
I personally believe that MSN-Live returns much better results for focused keywords than Google. I quite often found it difficult to find exactly what I wanted on Google, but since switching to MSN I am able to research information faster, which helps me to save time in a busy business day. There is far too many unrelated sites in a Google search string and I feel that it will only be a matter of time before MSN starts to eat into the Google market share. Don't write off Miscrosoft, they are not just going to sit back and watch Google rule the roost. Be interesting to see where they all are in five years time I bet there will be a more level playing field than we see today. JB
Google is the best search engine,,,,based on the relevancy of the results…..it is difficult to rank well until you gain some authority…….which will happen only over a time….. But msn,,,,,is very easy to rank for…..
Google is more quality. It's main and good, as everyone says it gives lots of traffic its true, thats why Google is more picky and doesn't index everything. Google works on your link quality, and actually has a banning parameter. MSN, is still good, but they will actually index most pages. They along with Yahoo just need backlinks of any sort even with PR0 and they will index you as long as its not some dead site.
i was listed msn 40.000+ pages and google 9.000+ pages but google send me 750 - 1100 unique visitors daily also msn send only 5 - 20 Visitors. So i think google best for me.
search engines use different algorithms so you'll get the same results on them. but for some they will target to have good placement on google as it is the widely known SE and it gives lot of traffic.
yes if you go for keywords as msn fav onpage we can find more related sites and content in msn.Google will show quality sites as most of them look for quality google gets more searches
Google's results are always changing, as far as backlinks and such within Google, don't entirely trust them. It has been said that they just give random numbers, as too not share too much info. For more consitant results use msn and yahoo's backlink checker. Google!! In my experience with a new site, I get more traffic at first from MSN, after working with the site, not too long after Google finally comes around and the traffic is almost 10 to 1. Msn is easier to manipulate, and as a result searchers get spammy results. BJ
It is very easy to get indexed in MSN . Google takes compartively longer time. MSN indexing is based on simple algorithm whearas google is based on a robust and complex one.A site indexed in Google can get u far better results..
When we talk of best search engines, it's about the quality of results, not based on popularity, which one indexes pages fastest or how easy it is to rank on that search engine. But with popularity, it could mean people were satisfied with results that they keep coming back.
