MSN not liking sites with adsense

Discussion in 'Bing' started by nextgen66, Jun 24, 2006.

I had two loans sites that were added to MSN a month ago. One I added adsense to after it was indexed, the other not. The one with no adsense was respidered yesterday and is now on page 5 for its very competitive keywords. I am assuming the one with adsense was respidered too, because its now GONE. Not only that, but I cannot get any new sites I created added to MSN AT ALL that have adsense on them.

Looks like MSN is now totally disregarding sites with ( too much ? ) adsense.

It's got to just be a coincidence, I've got several extremely competitive #1 slots on MSN and those sites run adsense.

Its good to hear you guys aren't having this experience !

    Also a guy from MSN on another board said this should not be happening;
so it seems like this is just something I assumed wrongly - I guess something else is going on with those sites.

If it really happens, then the search engines would reach nowhere!

i hve usually 3 adsense units on most of my pages and yet the last days first time in my site history of the last many years the MSN referral traffic has exceeded the Y traffic
hence i see no evidence of such adsense behavior from MSN

I have sites well ranked by MSN and most of them have Adsense so it must be something else you did/didn't do for that site.

The New York Times uses AdSense. So are you saying that MSN is ignoring them, too? I think not.

Well I don't know if MSN could get away with penalizing AdSense related sites but something has been happening with MSN. For the past few years up until about the middle of June I had over 2,000 listings in MSN serp's then it abrubtly went to 44. I've been an AdSense publisher for about a year now so I can't make that correlation but I also don't have a better answer to what happened. If this is a re-indexing glitch then I'll now something in the next few weeks or so but writing MSN Search hasn't been helpful with answers.

Interestingly enough Google has almost picked up about 70% of my MSN lost traffic during the same time period. Obviously I think very highly about Google and have lost enthusiam for MSN. Wish I had some answers thou.

Anyone else notice any effect on their serps with MSN in June..?

Did you change anything else on your pages? Titles/H1 tags maybe?
I found out the hard way that changing H1's will dump you to page 5 or 10 on MSN real fast..

Never faced the problem like this. It is really not because Mircosoft doesnt like GoogleAdsensed sites. Try to submit your sites to MSN robots again and check your logs to see if they come.

my biggest site on msn recently dropped from #1 to the bottom of the first page, and every site above it does not have adsense.

one of those sites that out-ranks mine has not been updated for years, and the others are also a lot smaller, with fewer backlinks.

i have been checking all my sites with the dp tool out here, and they have all dropped in msn... after years of being at the top... i haven't changed anything.

fortunately msn has never sent me much traffic anyway, as compared to google, but there is something wrong with msn right now.

For my keyword, I had the #1 spot on MSN and #3 for Google. Then I added AdSense and in a month MSN dumped me. After a while MSN moved me up to page 8 on the SERPS. On Google and Yahoo I still have top page ranking, but MSN still has me buried.

I have adsense all over my site - and google search as well

and the last months i get more and more bot visits from msnbot and better serps with many ranking well in the top 10

hence I see no solid evidence at all that MSN is blacklisting any adsense users

msn is much sloer than G - so is Y - and it just may take a few months or years longer to be fully established in MSN serps

I safely assume you have submitted a sitemap to msn to make sure they find all URLs

i offer all SE a sitemap in
    - HTML
    - txt
    - xml

format to make life for SE easier

I now have a couple of sites with adsense at the top of their rankings (or close to it) for their targeted keywords...so I take back starting this thread, its simply not true !

yes i agree that having adsense doesnt affect msn rankings and if it does, then its very minimal
