Hi all I take it that MSN has just changed all there rules on how they rank websites, cos since they have changed the colour of there search page(Yesterday I think). My websites rank has droped off the scale and to really take the mic the top sites dont have any links or any Google PR. Hows that? Has everybody else found this too? Oh well MSN dont get much of the market anyways. Thanx John
Well mine home page was on the bottom of the first page so it was 10th. Now it is not even my home page that come up first in the list it is the FAQs page and the FAQs page now comes up bottom of the 14th page. For my main keyword of contract hire. It has also done pretty much the same for lease hire another main keyword for me. Check out the site in 1st and 2nd place when searching contract hire. God no what these new rules must be to have sites like that at the top. Thanx John
This is rather weird. I have several phrases for multiple sites where some are still right at the top while others have fallen off the map... Yeah, let's hope the come back to something "normal"!
Some of my large keywords have been smashed, yet others are still high up. Could just be a flux whilst they change things. Usually I find rankings will come back pretty quickly. Brad
I have found my results have already improved again, if I use the search box that is on my MSN email account. But is still really bad if I use the MSN main search page. Thats a bit strange in it.
I did notice a change in search rankings, but none with my particular sites, since they weren't popularly ranked previously. It's possible they are attempting to mimic google, or bill got trigger happy and crashed their original ranking database.
some of my good ones went down, but a bunch of new ones went up as usual one of my pet sites that has, like 100 pages of unqiue content and many hours of tweaking, dropped like a stone, whereas a couple of my one page afiliate wonder sites went up typical
This upadte is just for set their PPC in demand. Because i notice that not relevant sites are comming at top.
Changes I have noticed: 1. less stress on link popularity. 2. better dynamic pages ranking. Result: better for big guys, harder to rank. .
Pr no longer means anything, it only means getting a better sale on your site! The only way i can suggest is wait untill your domain is older! You will rank well on Google and MSN then!
i see no difference in my rankings, maybe there is some technique u are using that is now being filtered?
I'm seen a drop in quite a few of my rankings. Will check later on to see if it's just a normal fluxuation or perhaps something else.
It dont matter what you use though it matters what your customers are using. MSN although it is only a small part of the market (approx 15%) it is still part of the market and matters were you come on a search. We do also rank quite well in Google and Yahoo though too. And we are top in Ask Jeeves but same again they take a very tiny amount of the market.
Rankings have dropped a bit, but still on the first page. Most of my secondary terms dropped one or two slots as well. But that could just be MSN being MSN.
