How long will it take for MSN to sort out the indexing issues its having? 301 redirects are indexed as real pages and the whole index has been filled with affiliate redirects and non-existant pages for weeks now. Also they are indexing pages that are blocked using robots.txt even though the pages are not real pages just redirect links. Please somebody from MSN sort this out. Its been weeks now.
robots.txt is fine and passes all the checker tools. Yahoo and Google obey it just fine. Its the redirect thing that really annoys me. The whole index is just full of redirects.
Yes: http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=site:scripts.affiliatefuture.com&FORM=USNO though that's a 302 Google indexes 302's as well by the way causing me a possible duplicate content headache because of joinging affiliate future as a merchant.
The whole thing is just stupid. How can MSN be so broken it can't handle 301 redirects? One of my sites is now almost totally full of redirects and MSN can't find the real content. Its costing me £500 a week at the minute.
I was disappointed with MSN with regards to the fact that it cannot properly spider and index 'compressed' websites. They definately need to get on the ball and up to speed with certain aspects of their indexing.
I had absolutely no problem with MSN following my 301 redirects. It's Yahoo that gives me lots of trouble. Close to one month and it's still not doing anything about it.
