Is it purely using the COOP ad network ? How many days and how many backlinks did it take for you to get there ?

I've actually started to use the MSN search...

    Like, actually use it....

For some terms, it really seems a lot more relevant...

MSN really likes my Startiing Oversite. It comes up #2 for the search "starting over". Google doesn't like it too much yet but I really haven't spent any time on SEO yet.

MSN likes my site and it just passed Yahoo in terms of traffic but Google is higher than both.

I hope more people will use MSN

You are wasting your time. Target keywords that show at least 100,000 searches or more or you will end up with a big fat 0 in your visitor logs.

The top word "dog training" for my website is 98k :)

I try to target ALOT of smaller words rather then alot of big one's.

At least i get some traffic from google now for easy words, where i would have no chance from big one's. :D

    You know msn is weird.

I actually noticed a steady traffic increase from it.

Around 80% of people get to my site through MSN, another 15-18% from article publishing websites and others from google.

MSN is spending lots of money on PPC ads and TV ads promoting it's new search.... should be interesting to see how it unfolds.

I disagree with you on this one fryman. I'd rather have high SERP's for 20 kw's that are only searched for 100 times a day than mediocre SERP's for a couple kw's that have a high search frequency. Finding the right niche and the right kw's to target is very important and if you're not in the first couple of pages, you're not going to be visited.

    Congratulations saintdw.

I agree with fryman, at least from where I stand... 100 searches a day ovt isn't going to give you even one visit at #1 spot probably. I only target high traffic kws and so far that method has paid off pretty well.
#2 paris hilton - 64,516.2/day ovt is giving me close to 1500 visits a day.
#2 free hosting sites - 40.3/day ovt has given me 0 visits in over a week, and I expect that to be the case.

you know some words it doesnt matter how much you try you wont get..

Besides. Why would a dog information website target paris hilton?

    Just an example...
But why pussyfoot around with 150 potential visits (ovt, so probably much less on msn now anyway) when you could be targeting say 'dogs' with 35,253 per day potential. On msn anyway it's possible....

just for kicks ill try and optimize for word "dogs"

Even though its almost impossible... lol

curently ranking at like 100 for "dog training"

Gonna push some weight on it from coop network to get in top 5.

3.6k searches per day on word tracker.
