Don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but www.msn.com now has a Google pagerank of 2, following the latest update. ;)

Sweet - finally we have a better pagerank than MSN!!! :D

lol do you think this is an intentional ploy by Google? Maybe they are attacking MSN for their plans to put the search systems on the operating system desktops.

funny but not strange at all. Sites like msn and cnn market their site specifically without the www.

The fact that msn also heavily uses subdomains might be a factor as well.

What news? It's not news. MSN doesn't care about PageRank and don't bother making their site look big in PageRank. I'm sure they have their reasons.

If I have a site http://www.msnpageranksucks.com do you think I will get better than a pr2?

Only Google bothers with PR and I am not sure if it has any value even with Google anymore.

This can't be a intentional from Google, because this hurts the reputation of the reliability of the PR algs.

If you try "msn.com" it is page rank 8. If you try "www.msn.com" it is a PR 2.

This is why I do a 301 redirect from non-www to www. Help consolidate PR... or at least that is my hope... ;-)

Yea msn might not care but google's pr system should still wor for them since there are many 0000's of backlinks to msn.

could there be a problem with google or is google do this to them on purpose.

I believe it's a major problem on Google's side. I mean who can trust Google anymore? All these updates I've seen are very unstable.
