I've heard others say that they do. It's very interesting how that works. Some also claim they can get listed faster in MSN.
Some sites that I've been involved with have certainly got high on MSN faster than on Google. It certainly seems more responsive, but do they sacrifice anything in terms of relevance to get that speed, I wonder? Mike.
That depends on who you ask. Some dislike the relevance of MSN and thinks it's spammy while others like me actually think MSN returns better results as long as you donät look on the most competetive keywords.
I have been getting more traffic from MSN But I dont get listed fast there at all ... Although I move through the pages fast to the top once indexed I think the answer is yes .... I think its worth looking into how to please other engines as much as google ... thanks for the great idea The Crow
The latest update seems to like keyword stuffing. Lots of top ranked sites have high keyword density.
MSN always lists every single html, htm, php, etc.. file that touches my web server, however the hits are minimal.. google will only index about 1/4 of my files, but the hits that come from there are amazing does anyone else notice how MSN traffic converts a lot better?
Recently I read that AOL converts the best and MSN second then Yahoo and then Google. You can read about it here: http://www.websidestory.com/news-events/press-releases/view-release.html?id=319
I get 33% of my search engine traffic from MSN. The rest is mostly Google and a very small percentage of Yahoo. So my MSN traffic is increasing.
I am on first page on MSN for few keywords on my site but they aren't that popular searches so I dont get much traffic from them :[
I used to get most of my traffic from MSN for a fairly new site of mine. Now It is showing up in Google for a few terms and google moved into number 1 for traffic. I am ranked in MSN for several terms.
Most of my new sites I do a blogspot blog for, then pingomatic, then add the xml code to yahoo's myspace, but even doing that I usually get indexed in MSN first, then yahoo, then google, most of the times within a week to two weeks. Then I submit sitemap to google and they eventually index the rest of the pages, but do nothing else to msn and yahoo and they always seem to have almost all of the pages indexed with no further work.
I just tried to verify this for a site that has higher rank than mine for a particular key word. Result is below. IMHO, keyword density has some weightage in MSN. But it is not a main factor to get top rank. MSN - Top 10 Yahoo - Top 25 Google - 50-100
I've just noticed that MSN has me quite highly ranked for my 'other' keywords, but my main keywords still rank highly in Google, almost as if MSN have a filter that says if Google ranks the keyword then don't bother and move onto the next in the list. Not complaining though, I love the fact the MSN visitors are coming to my site, they tend to look around a bit before leaving.
That tool is a great tool for finding KW density but not the most accurate tool. Your right that Keyword density does not have the most impact on rankings. I would say inbound links have a lot more weight.
