MSN Dropping Ranks

On one of my sites i'm number one for a few terms, one of these recently dropped from #1 to #20-30, is this a normal fluctuation, or did I do something to upset the thing. Thanks.

 

I've notice the same thing with some of my sites and I haven't made any changes. So I'd just rest easy. I'm sure it's just a fluctuation on their part and not some mortal sin you have committed.

I have seen the opposite. I have seen a new site that I recently launch skyrocket to the top of several search terms (mainly less competed terms). I wonder if it is something where MSN is placing a heavy emphesis on more recent content. Anyone else outhere seeing the same?

I am nr 1 for a term that brings almost 1000 visitors per day. Then the next day I drop out completely. Next day Im back at nr 155. Then nr1. then back in 100's. then 1. Going like this for weeks now, MSN is just weird.

 

Yeah.. MSN is weird these days..
one of my new domain is ranked in first 10 in a few imp. keywords, where in Google, Yahoo and a few others it is not even ranked in first 10 pages..
I don't know what to say..

 

Yah, they're funny that way. My main page just disappeared from my top 10 spot today too...

 

I have seen similar. My page will be in the top 5, drop completely out and then bounce back a day or so later.

I HAVE found though that if your page drops down that if you update the content or add a comment it tends to bounce back up. Has any one else seen this?

 

I have found that if I add fresh content on a regular basis, I can usually hold my ground in MSN. (Ground being ranked #1)

 

Agreed. It helps to ad some dynamic content as well. Keep it fresh and the SE will too.

 

Ranks vary from day to day. It depends. Just keep building backlings for your targeted words and keep your content fresh.
