MSN De-indexing Mystery Solved - not due to coop

    Okay,

A little while back I reported that all of our pages had been deindexed by MSN shortly after joining the coop. (I did not blame this on the coop.)

This is just to confirm to everyone that it was not the coop that got our website deindexed. Apparently we had an older robots.txt file pulled from Webmaster World and in it there is a spot that disallows msnbot.

Now, the strange part is that we had over 700 pages indexed in MSN until about 3 weeks ago. We haven't changed that robots.txt file for the last year. How were we even indexed to begin with?
