That sounds like what Yahoo would do if you rushed to finish a site that was ranking. I think I am going to wait the update out for now before I make any tweaks or changes.

Hmm i'm not too sure. I think it is the process of changing, but it's not complete. I'm seeing some pretty irevelent sites near he top.

the site i'm mainly interested in hasn't lost too much. So if you're right, I think i can get back to the top...maybe.

I was relieved to see this thread. I monitor 67 of my top keywords each day. Today, MSN dropped 25 of them. Lots of red in today's report.
I just completed a redesign on Saturday and set up 301 redirects on Sunday. I though that might be the reason, but it appears that other factors are at work.

None of my sites that disappeared have come back even though I have seen the rankings bounce pretty significantly for my topics the last few days. The weird part though is that none of my dropped pages have been cached in the last 4-5 days and checking my logs MSN hasn't gotten spidered any my sites, (even ones that are still well ranked), for the same period of time. I have a single hit on one site of the robots.txt file from msn otherwise nothing.

Previously I could count on many hits a day from MSN.

Like you, I have about six visits a day from google bots, 4 from yahoo, and usually 1 or 2 from MSN. Over the last 4 -6 days, I have not seen any MSN bots hitting my site. Any ideas? Anyone else seen a similar pattern?

    Thanks.

Same with me. MSN hasn't been to by site since Sept 24 which is also the same day I got tossed from the SERPs.

Come back MSN Bot! We were such good friends! :p

MSNBOT is crawling my sites a lot still, not an issue for me.

MSN is still my #2 for results (3000 search hits so far this month) with Google leading across all google-sites at about 4500 hits.

The problem with getting some good rankings in MSN is they just dont deliver the traffic. I compared a search term ranking #2 in Google to #1 in MSN and the traffic for this month is Google 524 to MSN 45. I guess I really shouldn't worry about dropping off the MSN SERPs.

That's really no surpise. MSN is only ~8% of the SE market, but it is growing.

Read This for recent SE market share

Bill needs to invest some of his billions in getting a larger market share. He should talk to Donald about investing money.

Sorry, but Bill is the richest man alive, not Donald.

Give MSN 5 more years. My hunch is they will slowly climb the ranks.

Well, the SERPS are still bouncing in and out every day. For the longest time I had a site that ranked in the top 5-6 spots on MSN for "SEO" on Saturday it disappeared today it is making an encore appearance. :)

Some of my other sites are bouncing like crazy every day this week. It seems like this update will never end.

I know he is the richest but that is from a monopoly on a market that is probably the biggest market in the world. Donald however, invests every penny he makes so that penny will make him some more pennies.

Bill Gates is fairly liquid, Donald Trump has almost everything he owns tied up in something or another... He is as likely to go completely bankrupt again as he is to make a lot more money.

We are doing rather well on MSN for a UK search term. However Yahoo ranking is still better than MSN for our term.

The success we are having may co-incide with the update, or perhaps just improvements in our marketing effort over recent weeks. It's difficult to tell really.
