It's still doing its beta testing. For example, at this time only U.S. citizens can open an account and by way of recommendation only. When you try to sign up it asks you to enter the address of the refferer. Too bad, there's some good advertisers on that program, like Amazon. Those are great ads to have on your site as text ads.

    hi everybody,
we don't have anything in place (even in beta, yet) for publishers.

in the U.S. we are running a pilot program for advertisers.

if you want to apply for the pilot, fill out this form: http://advertising.msn.com/searchadv/PilotForm.asp

otherwise i'll keep you posted on when the publisher arm of adCenter happens.

    thanks!

    adCenter,

Thanks for clarifying again! There has been instances where people have quoted wrong terms like msn adsense etc creating confusion.

By the way, I have got the invite for adCenter and been using it for couple of days, I am considering writing a small review of experience soon (comparing with adWords and overture).

Is it allowed to make available the adCenter screenshots publicly?

    Thanks

Probably because search marketing is a multi billion dollar (and growing) industry.

They already had a search engine and a huge user base. Makes perfect sense to me to implement their own home grown PPC marketing product.

The most financially astute and profitable companies don't invent things, they let others invest the huge of time or money involved in coming up with something new, then they jump on the bandwagon if and when it's successful. Makes business sense.

The British have invented so many things, yet it's usually the Japanese and others who have profited from them :)

IMO, its too navie to say this way! Don't forget the MS is the biggest software provider, most of us when learned computers/internet products by MS were right there to start with.

This is a non patented product, so it is open to competition. One of the reasons why Microsoft is so successful is becuase they take ideas of others and improve on it. Perhaps they should stop spending billions on R&D and just do what Google does and try and do it better. Although, that could be a tad unfair considering Microsoft launced some of the most innovative software products in the 1990's, not to mention the hugely popular OS.
