MSN adCenter, $200.00 Vouchers, And Frauds

Discussion in 'Bing Ads' started by MarketingJunkie, Oct 18, 2007.

Over the last year or so, I've been disappointed to see people offering the occasional $200.00 MSN adCenter coupons for sale.

While I understand there's nothing stopping anyone from selling anything, I just think it's a fraud to sell the vouchers... especially if you're a current MSN advertiser and know about how MSN works (or specifically, doesn't work).

Quite frankly, MSN could offer a $100,000.00 voucher and your results would probably be the same.... less than lackluster.

That's because MSN delivers very little in the way of traffic.

Now don't get me wrong, MSN leads typically deliver higher-quality traffic than Google AdWord's leads. Even better, the cost per lead is almost always a lot less costly, too -- making it less risky to advertiser with MSN.

But when compared to Google Adwords, MSN adCenter delivers barely a trickle of traffic. And since these vouchers are only good for a certain time frame (it's been a while... maybe it's 45 days or 90 days), most new advertisers won't even rack up $50 in clicks until it expires -- no matter how hard you try (like I did) to generate $200.00 in clicks.

I gave up on advertising with MSN for now... way too many promises and way too little traffic compared to Google AdWords.

Now some might argue, "Yeah, but I'll just submit a billion keywords, generate lots of traffic, and then pause the account when the voucher expires."

Believe me, I tried that, but MSN rejects a lot of keywords for no apparent reason. I understand you can contact MSN and they'll often reapprove your keywords... only to reject them a few weeks later. That's gotta be quite frustrating.

That's why I would be embarrassed to charge you for my MSN adCenter vouchers that I get from time to time... I'd feel like I was ripping you off. I hate getting ripped off myself.

    Here' my suggestion:

Instead of waiting for me to post these seemingly valuable MSN adCenter vouchers, I'd recommend paying the $5 setup fee and trying it out yourself. Set a budget you can easily afford. Carefully track results. And see if MSN works for you.

At the same time I'll continue to post MSN adCenter vouchers as I get 'em... that way someone else won't making money on ripping you off.

If you're an MSN adCenter advertiser, tell me what you think of my advice. Do you agree with my thoughts?

They have a free $75 promo code out there now (just google adcenter). I am trying it out. I have read the traffic is low, but that the traffic that adcenter does send is convert-able. I will see. $75 is a lot of clicks.

I bought a $200 ad voucher, traffic is ok, but setup is a pain. There is a reason google is number one.

I like MSN much more than Google or Yahoo because of the traffic qualty... MSNs traffic conversion is much better than the other two...... only problem is that the amoount of traffic is very low....

I like AdCenter... except for the speed. It's just way too sloooowwwww. It takes about 3-5 times longer to setup a campaign compared to Google.

I agree with you markus. I set up a campaign with loads of keywords, higher bids than adwords, and guess what?

In 72 hours, they've managed to serve ONE impression lol.

I've had good success with what traffic I have got from AdCenter. Granted it's not nearly as high as AdWords, but it converts well....

Lots of scams on the signup links...I can say that the $75 link on this page from RapidRobert is good though as I just used it!
