MS: Please downgrade to IE 6

I downloaded the IE Developer toolbar to help troubleshoot some things in IE7 a few moments ago.

I thought it was pretty funny that the recommended download they suggested was IE 6!

The recommendation is near the bottom, underneath the blue headline.

    Thats hysterical...
Automatic updates installed IE7 last week or so.
It lasted about three minutes before I did a system restore.
and all was well again. lol

Funny - that's exactly how I ended up with IE on this machine. The "optional" high priority update wasn't actually optional for me.

    I personly like 7 better than 6.

Though when you liked6 teh switch to 7 was not cool.

What everworks for me. It's easier to use IE7 than IE6.

I dont like any IE. They all suck. They just feel like driving a ford fiesta at 70mph. (and believe me, it was very bad, my ass went dumb within 10mins...)

I think most webmasters or at least web developers agree that IE is, well, not so hot...

But marketshare points out that we have to deal with it - and in my own defense, I only opened it and downloaded the dev toolbar because I was doing some unit testing in IE and had to track down a bug. (in IE's defense the bug had to do with my own typo that firefox just happened to handle more gracefully).

I also inadvertently downloaded ie7 with the Microsoft updates. It took me a week to realise as I had gotten so much out of the habit of clicking on the blue 'e' to surf the net!

Why does everyone hate IE so much? Is it cos firefox is "cool"

Its a browser, it displays webpages - just like all the rest of them

    get over it!

Just for the record - I absolutely HATE Firefox

Firefox you may hate. Does it pull in so many beasties as internet explorer has the potential to do so? I think not.

Personally, I split between opera and firefox quite a lot - I know that any nasty website I visit has less potential to harm my computer that way.

Interesting thing, people hate the IE, but they use it. Some use because they need to use (I mean web developers need to use IE for testings), some use cause they hate it, but any time when there is new realize of IE they update it and hate it again..:) Personally I use FireFox because it is faster, but I don't hate IE, I just don't use it.

Umm,it's funny..But I don't think someone added it manually. The script just gets a keyword on the page and lists some relevant downloads IMO.
    Luckily,I haven't upgraded my IE yet :)
