Hi, I'm curious as to who may have taken either or both of the above exams as Specialist of Expert for MS Office. I'm studying right now but would like some feedback as to the response from potential employers. Also, where did you take the exams and how much did they cost? I have gone through the search for these forums and nothing has come up. I find it hard to believe that I would be the first one to post such a topic. Thanks
Hi Johan I have MCP certification and find it really doesn't do much for me, other than I know what the installation switches are!.. I'm trying to find the "soft" approach wording to say that IMO I think microsoft office specialist stuff is really not worth much at all. I believe the gang at MS put together a "fluffy" let's appease the masses with a certification program 'certificate' and that's about all it's worth. With the MS desktop application software you either know it or you don't and that's pretty easy to ascertain... I'd advise putting the money to better use
Thanks for the reply. My personal opinion is that any potential employer will develop their own testing pertaining to their own company's needs. Sometimes when we attach a Specialist of Expert title and then don't know 'every little thing' when everyone wants to ask us something we are looked at as if we may be bogus. I think I will continue to study and go with my hunch. The only exception may be if I find an agency who'll spring for the cost of certification which apparently does happen. I also have the Mos and MCP certificate, according to me after we passed the examinations that we have pride in itself, I can not recommend decisions remain in your hands thanks
