I have an mp4 file that I want to upload to my blog and I don't want to use one of the video sharing sites like YouTube. How do I make it "playable"?

    Thanks

Convert your mp4 video to flv format and use any video player plugin to play.

Unless you have a dedicated server, this isn't a good idea.
Playing videos uses so many resources that it may play slowly, not at all - or your hosting company may suspend your account.
Many shared hosting account providers, such as justhost, ban the use of video on shared sites

Two alternatives to youtube are amazon s3 (paid) - if you are expecting lots of traffic, or screencast.
Screen cast offer free accounts for up to 2Gb of traffic a month or 200Gb for $9.95 - but above that level become more expensive than s3

Thanks for the replies guys. Screen cast sounds like a good option I'll check them out.

    Thanks
