A recent install of Quicktime has meant that it's become my default player for Mp3 files. I'd like to change it back to Windows Media Player, but found in Quicktime/Plugins/Settings - no changes or that Windows Media Player/Tools/Options/File Types didn't work either. Any help?
Right click on any MP3 file while holding down the Shift key, there would be an option that says 'Open With", click that option and you would've the list of programs installed on your computer, single click Windows Media Player, then there's a check box at bottom of that dialogue box that say 'Always use this program to open this type of files'. Check that box and click open. Next time onwards your MP3s would open in Windows Media Player. If it does not work, try installing Media Player OR Winamp again, it would automatically make association with MP3 files.
Thanks. My mp3's do actually open with Windows Media Player automatically, it's just when I open them from a web site (say a podcast or music), that the default is Quicktime.
Maybe it's not mp3, but a streaming audio like .rm. If yes, then save it to a folder on your hard drive and do what SumitBahl said before. Hope this helps
?? No, I'm trying to play Mp3 music, but due to recent install of Quicktime it's not playing in Windows Media Player.
BTW, did you try uninstalling the Quicktime???? Uninstall it and if you really need it, install it again. I myself dont like quicktime.
I found that when the Quicktime icon is in the systray all video and audio files seem to load automatically with it. When I close the icon it loads normally. SumitBahl...you're from India? That's cool. I was in India a few months ago..really enjoyed it
