The launch of the open source Firefox 3 web browser has set the new Guinness World Record for the largest number of software downloads in 24 hours. Mozilla's mirrors served 8,002,530 complete, individual downloads during the download day event following the official release of Firefox 3 last month.
OMG 8,002,530 downloads in 24 hours. This is a huge numbers and I don't think so any other can archive this records.
That was old news . But there are quite a few hiccups to get to the record. I remembered trying to download it for the better part of the day and unable to connect. I guess they themselves never envisioned the overwhelming kind of response that they are getting. So far Fire Fox 3 is quite good. I won't call it revolutionary but it is stable enough, just that I discovered Fire Fox 3.01 seemed to be out. Hopefully we won't get too many security issues with this new browser. While I won't call the product revolutionary, I must say that they have achieved the PR (Public Relations) not Page Rank they needed. Quite a good marketing stunt.
Maybe you would want to elaborate on this? Most of us are quite satisfied with it. Why does it sucks? Any particular features that sucks and that we fail to notice?
