reseller WHM does not have any transfer option. You have to go into each account and do the backup manually.

thats what i ended up doing, just basically transferring the public_html folder from on to the other thru ftp and the running a backup of the database.
i wont know if its fully working until the dns changes all the way over though.

Would the HostGator support do that?

Most web hosts if you upload the cPanel backup file they'll be willing to restore the account for you. This way almost all the information is changed over and no worry about setting permissions again and things of that nature.

So what most people do in order to get the backup file to their new host is use the cPanel backup tool and set it to ftp to another server.

basically what i did was this

create a full backup and mysql database backup thru cpanel on old site

    download all the public_html folder

create a new database and user using the same name and password as the old site on the new cpanel.

ftp in the public_html folder, run the backups thru cpanel and the sites work fine.
i dont know if ill run into any problems having done it this way but it all seems to be working fine.
