Say if I have a E commerce website that's ranked real well in Google with SEO and it has a PR of 2..

Would I lose all my SEO if I was to move the website to a new domain name and new host?

Well changing the "Domain" will definitely kill all promotions and SEO values, SE's will always considered it as new domain with duplicate contents Beware, here are the rules:

    Rule#1:

If you change domain, try to upload a new site with different content, for E-commerce sites rewriting descriptions and rearrange the products will do.

    Rule#2:

If you wish to carry on with old domain together with new one, You must use permanent redirect all URL's to new one and keep the directory empty.

    Option #3:

If you are changing platform in same domain, E.g. PHP to .Net or so on, it wont affect your "SEO Values" and new pages will be indexed again by SE's. if this is one reason you are changing domain, please don't do it.

    hope this helps!

You are definitely gone to lose your website ranking because you are moving your website to new domain. Google or any other Search Engine will consider it as a new domain. If you want the old content, metatags, etc run in the new website, you can do so but make sure to use permanent redirect to all old URL's to new ones.

    Hope this will help

    hi,

i agree with stephnbryan. you loose everything if you change your host..

no worry.. start in the beginning of your seo if you plan to get new domain and hosting
