    Hello nexis.

I would just like to state that SEO is a gossip-ridden science. No one can tell for sure what counts for how much, because no one except the search engines know the exact details of their ranking algorithm. So all we can do is test different techniques and see the results, deducting from there what counts and what not.

Now, for the past couple of years, it's quite obvious that inbound links count for a great deal. Personally, I tested with two different websites on fairly equally competitive keywords. I tried getting quality backlinks for one, while the other I just spammed with links from article directories, e-zines, all sorts of crappy websites. The one that I got fewer but quality links for is in the first results on Google, the other one that I got a lot of crappy links for is in the supplmental index and dying. I'm sure others will attest that in SEO linking, quality is often more important than quantity.

Nice suggestions there freelistedirectory and Tudi. You all are my GURU's and I wont let u down in a year or two :)

So to summarize I have to build link to my websites. I know quality link matters.... I gues i shud remove some links from my signature because my lyrics blog show 34 backlinks of which 28 are from my signature on DP, which is not related to the niche. But then again I have seen a lot of webmasters not caring about the niche and instead just link to the new website they launch from unrelated niche websites which they own.

Don't think we're doing this for free. In a year, when you become succesful, we'll haunt you with requests for clicks, backlinks, affiliate marketing offers and whatnot, throwing the "remember how I helped you back then" line in your face.

Just kidding, you're very welcome ^^
