moving to new VPS

Hmm, I actually got 4 IP`s.

 

It's been a while since I've used a vps, so I'm not 100% sure, so you may want to contact your provider to see why the ips are not showing up.

Normally when ip addresses are assigned, you would have to go through the IP Migration Wizard (RC2) under IP Functions to add them.

 

I am trying to move just 1 account in WHM now. Will it move all the files also ? Because it takes a loooooooooooong time

 

Yeah, it can take a while depending on how large the site is.
but, remember doing the whm copy-over... it copies all settings, email and databases too, which will save you time, if you had to manually do it.

 

Thanks cyanide. A am moving a site in WHM now with 500 mb db`s and images of 1GB, a lot of other content and databases. This will save me a lot if it works.

If it fails, let me know and we can figure something else out.
You could do a complete back up on the old server, then log into ssh on the new server and use wget to transfer the file over

 

Ahhh. It failed.
So I suppose I should do a back up and use ssh and wget. I do not know anything about that.
Do you know about a step by step desc. doing that ?

I selected surfspeedy.com. I had servint before, but they offered only 300Gb bandwith, surfspeedy offers 1500Gb for a slight increase in the price. I am crossing my fingers now. Servint is damn good so I set high standards.

Also how much ram did you get with the VPS? is it fast enough?
