Moving PHPBB

    SOrry everyone for this stupid question.


    i have never did this before.

    i am looking to move phpbb from my top level to /forum.

    is it just as simple as moving it or is their any file edits? i didnot want to do it just incase lol.

    I don't have much experience with phpBB, but if there is anything you have to do, it should be nothing more than correcting the path in your admin panel

    Other than moving/copying the files into the new "/forum" directory, there is a path setting that needs to be changed in the ACP.

    It's in
    ACP -> General Tab -> Server Configuration Section -> Server Settings

    It's called "Script path" and in your case it will change from "/" to "/forum".

    If you have a window of inactivity you should be able to change that setting, and then quickly move the files into the new forum directory & be running.

    Past that it's just a matter of setting up 301 redirects pointing the old links to their new places.

    If you missed it, update the path using mysql.
    or better, phpmyadmin should do the job easily
