I've been researching this, Trying to find some useful information. Basically i live in the u.s, I'd like to experience some different cultures. I was looking at moving to indonesia. It seems i would need a VISTA temporary stay license which is good for 6 months. I would need to be employed to get one. Would be awsome if i could find an IT company located in Indonesia or Belize or someplace out of the united states so i could stay there for 3-6 months. Anyone ever done this?

Probably not a bad idea to explore before you decide to stay there long term.
Why not get a tourist visa?

You could always just keep getting a new tourist visa and work remotely.

What!? Er.. Mate.. you really have to think twice about moving in here.. Current booming IT industry here is IT Security where you have to be good in either Penetration testing, ISO 27001 related stuff, or IT Sec consulting. Since most financial institution here are trying to get all that. Anyway.. Visa wise you can get tourist Visa and work here..

    Good luck..
