Ok, tonight I posted a pretty original (I think) rant about adsense in the correct forum titled "Adsense Alternatives' No Longer A Joke?" http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=401199#post401199 A moderator moved it under some guy's post who just cut/pasted from Google's Adsense Blog regarding "Smart Pricing" questions. What is the point of that move? The reason I'm posting here is to try to enact some changes. I think my post deserves it's own thread, moreso than a cut/paste job. It doesn't qualify as "duplicate" by any means. Another one of my posts about adsense was moved from the Google section to the General Business (dead) section the other day "Google: Really Honest or Really Stupid?" about how they seem to be ignoring smaller publishers who's sites are being penalized: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=34830 What's the deal? I post this stuff hoping to get a reaction, or possibly for someone from Google to see it and push for changes. If it's going to be shuffled around, or if DP mods feel it doesn't deserves to see daylight, that's fine. I just won't be posting this type of thread at this forum anymore. Perhaps I should write insightful posts like this one, which obviously deserves a "full thread" spot in the Adsense section http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=35523
Looks like you were both posting about the same thing so the threads got merged. Don't get mad, and of course, don't stop posting this kind of stuff, it is much better reading this information than getting stuck with dumb threads about "the person above you" and similar junk
Understood, though I respectfully disagree. It's partially about the blog entry, but also covers Google's lack of response, CPM dropping, one of my sites getting wiped from SERPs, etc. Guess I was just frustrated that I wrote a big rant and it got dumped under some other guy's post. The good news is I finally got around to starting an SEO blog tonight that I can just link to from my profile, something I've been meaning to do for a while
If everyone's rants/opinons/feedback or whatever else about a blog entry (or about anything really) were all spun into their own threads the forum would be useless. You would end up with 400,000 threads, each with no other posts within the thread. A thread is a topic, not a specific point of view.
The point I was trying to make is that anyone asking for "Alternatives to Adsense" used to be laughed off the forums. That is becoming less and less common, and I think it's a pretty significant development. I did mention the blog entry in my 7th paragraph. I love this forum, but I've been surprised that my last 2 posts which were critical of Google have been moved to irrelevant areas or merged with unrelated posts. I can see how this one was somewhat related to Google's blog entry, but my other Google rant that was moved to General business seems a little odd. This conspiracy theorist is going to bed.
Did you actually read the posts/threads in question, Minstrel? I find it hard to believe that you have time to read all the posts that you comment on, let alone ponder them before replying to them.
