    Use the backup feature that comes with most hosting services under the control panel. It is normally an icon on the main menu or page of the control panel. You would select the full backup option. This should backup all databases and files you currently have sitting on the server under your domain. The only files that are not picked up are those with "."-- [like .htacces] in front. These are normally instructions files and are hidden. Saving them as text files will ensure you get those too. Download the backup via FTP to your local computer or disk.

    if all you have are html pages and images, just use ftp to download form your current host and upload to your new host.

    If your website is not database driven then its quite easy to move to another server. All you have to do is use the ftp to transfer all your files associated with your website for example;

    Image folder
    index.html
    any other files . html or .css or .js

    and there you go online again unless your server is not well configured

    I can offer you cheap affordable hosting also and if you want i can help you perform this action but normally you should be okay

    Make a backup of the site files and database if you have one then purchase another hosting account and upload the files via ftp and .sql file through phpmyadmin (most hosting companies provide it)

    If you have a domain name you'll also need to change the nameservers over to the new hosting provider - this can be done though the domain registrar. You'll generally be provided with 2 nameservers (ns1.hostingcompany.tld / ns2.hostingcompany.tld).

    Well, no, you make the backup because it's a smart thing to do. But transferring to the other host, I understand that you tell your current host and your new host and they should do the transfer for you (or there's a button you can use). The backup sits on YOUR computer in case stuff gets lost in the tranfer.

    Ask the new company what they need to start accepting your files. You shouldn't have to upload them from your own machine.
