Moving from vBulletin to phpBB ?

Discussion in 'vBulletin' started by honey, Nov 25, 2005.

I have a forum that I want to move from vBulletin to PHPBB. I have an owned license of VB, but for some reason, I would like to move the forum to PHPBB. The VB is the latest version. Anybody know if I can move the forum including the database and the users to PHPBB ? If yes, how ?

    Any help will be appreciated.

Ask in the phpBB forums. They definitely have an import script.

i know there's IMPEX for going the other way....I was on the phpBB boards for a while and I never heard of an import script for vbulletin 3.5.1, but I did know people transferred..it might just be a hassle

Maybe I can try to downgrade my database from VB 3.x to VB2.x and I am sure that will do it with the support of what you have provided me Will!!

Thanks, let me play with it and see what happens.

You can't downgrade, if there isn't a import script you might have to pay someone to make one for you.

It's strange. I am not that much into forums but I have always heard people going the other way!

Oh well, I'm sure there's a reason, such as the cost of VB for instance.

Unfortunately in these cases when you make an unusual help, it's hard to find easy help, whether of a human or a machine.

    Good luck!
