I am wondering, when do you decide that it is time to concentrate on your high traffic Main keywords and put less effort into your long tail phrases? I recently moved from off of the grid to within page 6 for a major keyword. Should a lot of effort now be put into this main keyword and less concentration on the lesser long tail phrases? Hitting page 1 of Google with the main keyword is worth 100,000 long tail phrases in this case I believe. Thanks, HCG
If you're getting good traffic on long tail keywords then don't stop targeting it. Then also focus on your main keywords to rank well in search engine.
Yeah mate, target what will get you #1 and the most traffic. At page 6 you still have what, 59 contenders to deal with plus the top 10.
It doesn't matter whether the keywords are long or small the only thing matter is the targeted audience that were are you getting your targeted audience so the keyword which gives you superb business is your target. Cause you are not doing optimization for Google you are doing for the people who will come to you through this search so think about that which keyword is more important
