Moving from blogger to wordpress

    Hi all,

    I have a blogger site with my own domain name for 2 years. Now I decided to move on using wordpress or using my own hosting but still under blogger.

    My questions are

    1. Could I host my blogger some place else except blogger's free hosting ?
    2. If I move my http:/ / a b c. my own domain. com/ 2007/03/ keyword - keyword.html to wordpress, is it possible to show the same url with same subdomains.domainname.com/dir on it? [ I hate to work all over again]

    1. I don`t think it`s possible to host your blogger elsewhere besides blogger
    2. No...I think you can save your posts, but you can`t save the link

    You can have Blogger upload the posts to a domain - you just need to get the domain/hosting and then set it up in Blogger. I did this for some time and it worked very well.

    1. As I know, we cannot host blogger to another hosting.

    2. Yes and No

    Why? in blogger, if our post title is in short sentence. the permalink will full. example, the post title such as: Blogger Tutorial. The permalink will like this ( example only ) :

    http:/ / a b c. my own domain. com/ 2007/03/blogger-tutorial.html


    However, if your post title in long sentence, blogger will cut the permalink. Example, the post title like this: How Collection Agency can solve accounts receivables effectively. The permalink will like this (example only) ;

    http:/ / a b c. my own domain. com/ 2007/03/how-collection-agency-can-solve.html

    The accounts receivables effectively keywords not include in the permalink.



    As I know, In wordpress we can change the permalink Common settings ( dashboard >> permalinks ).
    If we want to save old blogger permalink, we must create the custom structure like this:

    /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%.html

    When you import the blogger post into wordpress, some of post will same permalink and some other will different.


    If the old permalink and new permalink is same. we unnecessary to edit them, and I think it's will not bother the Google index.

    i dont think you can move blogger to wordpress. it must be impossible.
