Movie Website Needs Design and Content Review and Features Suggestions

I'm looking for reviews of the overall design AND the content for our nostalgic movie site, CineWeekly. We feature movies that are at least 7 years old and only those we would rate 3/5 or higher. We like to put an emphasis on editorials rather than reviews. Sometimes it's fun to just read about observations and insight to the movies that we already know are classics (for those of us that consider "Escape from New York" and "House on Haunted Hill" to be classics). Our motto? "No News or Gossip"

When critiquing, be constructive and specific. Anyone can bash something, let me know how to make it better. Thanks.

Took a quick peek, did not have time to do much more. I think it looks good!

The first comment I would like to make - It is not comfortable for eyes, putting lots of stress. Overall look is good.(Off topic) - Are you done with its onpage(seo activity for increasing visibility, to tell search engines your website is for what), I didn,t get some factors like keywords.

I've practiced SEO techniques since the beginning. What do you mean by "I didn,t get some factors like keywords"?

Yes, it looks horrendous and cheap like a generic blog platform template.

All of the design gets lost when trying to convert to a light background. I have no problem at all reading it.
