Movie Review - Law Abiding Citizen

...As for the accomplice? Well, prepare for spoilers again, and quite literally, because the movie cheats you here too. Apparently Shelton has a number of tunnels that he dug over the past 10 years from all the jail cells in the solitary confinement area (he killed his cellmate, remember?) and this is what he has been using all this while to plant all his bombs (how unconventional!) and make his kills. If at this point you stopped reading in sheer disgust, donâ€™t blame yourself. Lastly, as for how the story ends, the hint is in the review above. Seriously though, you will be better off if you donâ€™t watch the ending and permanently sour any and all recollections that you will have of this movie. If you thought the movie was cheating you by telling you how the common man was a trained genius, the end might just make you sue the people who made the movie for some form of cheating too. Again, this isnâ€™t something that anyone will blame you for.

Unlike the ending though, the acting is top class. Gerard Butler does a great job of being The Joker part 2, and Jamie Foxx does a good job of being the righteous, arrogant man who you just want to punch but canâ€™t cause heâ€™s supposed to be the good guy. The characters are very well fleshed out and the story carries on very well till the final bit, where it all goes horribly awry. Apart from that, the background score does a good job of meshing in with the action on-screen too...

Technology Review - Samsung Chromebook Series 5

...Internal Hardware
The internal hardware specifications are where the Chromebook really starts to look like a netbook instead of a laptop, which really isnâ€™t the best thing for it in the context of other issues. It features a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N570 processor with 2 GB of RAM and integrated Intel graphics. Those specifications allow the netbook to perform its primary function, that is, net browsing, with ease, but ask for anything beyond that and youâ€™re likely to come away disappointed.

Battery
Battery life is again one of the major features that has been highlighted as the Chromebookâ€™s selling point, and for once the Chromebook lives up to all expectations. The battery is expected to last for nearly nine hours of constant use according to makers Samsung with battery loss during standby being almost non-existent. The amount of charging that the battery needs to get back to full levels is slightly worrying with an average rate of 1% for every 2 minutes, but with that sort of battery life you really wonâ€™t need to charge it that often anyway.

Conclusion
Chromebooks with their lack of local storage and instead complete focus on cloud storage might be the future, but Samsungâ€™s Chromebook Series 5 wonâ€™t be the one to lead them to it. The functionality in the Chrome OS is currently very limited, and while subsequent updates including offline support are expected soon, it might be too late for this Chromebook by then. The pricing at $429 doesnâ€™t help, because most netbooks are cheaper and really for the functionality that this one offers, youâ€™d expect this device to be priced significantly lower as well. The hardware is for the most part fine and Samsungâ€™s done its job well, itâ€™s when it comes to Googleâ€™s Chrome OS that the device starts to slip. All in all, using the Chromebook currently is equivalent to having only the Chrome browser to work with, and while some users might be able to work with that, the majority wonâ€™t be able to. And that is where the Samsung Chromebook Series 5 fails.

Technology News - Nokia Unveils N9 and N950

...Functional units of the new Nokia N9 were finally released to developers on Tuesday this week following Nokia CEO Stephen Elopâ€™s announcement earlier this year that Nokia would be releasing their first MeeGo device this year. While the device, also known as the Lankku, was made official on Monday itself, functional units started reaching developers early on Tuesday.

...The initial software offering by Nokia on this device consists of games like Galaxy on Fire, Angry Birds Magic and Real Golf 2011. The device will have a browser that is based on Webkit2 and will include a collective notifications center which will collate notifications from Twitter, Facebook and RSS feeds. The contacts section includes similar syncing capabilities and the phone comes with Ovi Store access for people whoâ€™d like to install more apps than what the factory version comes with....

Forex/Financial News - Australian Treasurer Warns of Greek Contagion

The Treasurer of Australia, Wayne Swan on Thursday issued his most serious warning yet of the Greek contagion spreading throughout the Europe along with U.S economic turmoil creating a financial crisis that would make the previous recession seem like a â€˜blipâ€™.

This comes after financial mood across Europe turns especially grave with speculations looming large upon Greece which avoided default by a narrow margin last week when it announced further spending-cuts and ambitious privatisation plans to gain funding from the IMF and the EU.
