    HI there

I'm looking for a good Video Editing Software, some friends of mine recommended Movie Edit Pro (Magix) so far can you comment on this, do you have any other choices?

    Greetings!

I recommend Sony Vegas. There's a basic consumer version called Sony Vegas Movie Studio that is affordable enough. They function the same except for some advanced features of the pro Sony Vegas.

Here's a tutorial I've made on How to learn video editing in 3 minutes using Sony Vegas; http://www.metacafe.com/watch/687585/learn_video_editing_in_3_minutes/

Could you please provide some more details? What "exactly" are you looking for in the software? Are you wanting special effects, animation, or some basic splice and merge software?

After looking through this thread, a bunch of software has been mentioned, except windows movie maker. If you have windows xp or vista, you have windows movie maker. It will be able to take care of basic video editing, such as splicing and merging different clips.

    these are free editing software.
movie maker is not a good editing software.very basic.
for multimedia purpose I believe that Adobe products are the best.
But they are really expensive (only $799 for adobe premiere).

    Hi :)

    What I *need* is:
    Lots of tracks
    multicamediting+native AVCHDediting (!)
    chromakeying

    What might be useful:
    A well integrated screencapturing function
maybe some kind of automatically advertisments remover for my captured tv shows (I heard about something like that, comming from magix, dunno...)
direct upload to youtube and other free webspace

which software has these features or at least most of them? :)
