Hey guys, I am having some major issues here. I moved http://tiyoo.com/blog from http://tiyoo.com and moved tiyoo.com from regulareducation.com/blog
They are all on the same server...and my domains are all hosted with hostgator under tiyoo.com
Ok I hope that makes sense. Now the problem that I am having is that when I create a post on the wordpress blog thats on tiyoo.com/blog the link redirects it to a not found page on the tiyoo.com wordpress blog.
How can I fix this? Did I forget to change a url in the SQL files?? or what? I really need some help here fast! Thanks, I appreciate all the help I can get!

I hope you guys can give me some words of wisdom.

First login to your wp dashboard and click on "General" under "settings".
Make sure that you have corrected the blog's URL on that page.

Then download the search and replace plugin you can find it here:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search-and-replace/

You can either download it from there and ftp it to your wp-content/plugins folder, or you can download it from your blogs dashboard.
Then with the plugin search for any instances of your old URL from the database and replace it with the new URL.

You will need to do this with both of your blogs.

If you need any help for free then give me a PM and I will give you a hand if you get stuck.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

All of the general settings are correct...the only thing that wasnt was the email on tiyoo.com/blog instead of charlie at tiyoo dot com it was charlie at tiyoo dot com/blog.

I have downloaded that plugin but am not sure how to use it, I will read up on it as much as I can and then pm you if i have further questions.

I dont understand though, if i change everything from tiyoo.com to tiyoo.com/blog wont that change the ones that I have already changed to tiyoo.com/blog to tiyoo.com/blog/blog????

That would be bad. What do you guys think? When I changed my blogs, I followed these steps http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vr7a8WdJS28

Its a pretty in depth video on how to move your wordpress blog from the Root to a subdirectory which is what I was doing...moving it from tiyoo.com to tiyoo.com/blog

Anyways, what do you guys think? Do you think it will still work?

    Hiya Charlitree

No it should only change tiyoo.com to tiyoo.com/blog.

If you have already changed some of them then it will not touch them.

So if you have already changed tiyoo.com to tiyoo.com/blog in some instances it will not change them to tiyoo.com/blog/blog.

You are only telling the plugin to change any instances to tiyoo.com to tiyoo.com/blog.

OMG does that make sense, I am confusing myself now lol.

    Hiya Charlietree

Using that plugin should of done the trick.

There may be something else that I am missing.
I can't really tell what the problem is though without having a look myself.
If you want me to take a look then give me a shout, and I will see if I can fix it for you for free.

    Just let me know.

    Thanks
