About 2 weeks back i bought a Adult image site that had been on a server for 11months and each month the traffic had been growing by about 30-40% but we transfered the site last weekend to a new vps server and the traffic has dropped like a brick but in the last 48 hours it has started to move up again very slightly is this because of the move as the site was off a host for 24 hours ??? Will this recover by its self or have we got to start heavly promoting it again as i am a little concerned in the drop in such a short space of time. Any thoughts on this one please.
if the site was down for 24 hours, you didnt get any traffic for that 24 hours. other than that, moving server doesn't usually put any impact on your serp position unless you are targeting a specific region and move server to a different country. serp position also dont change right away after the server gong down, it takes many crawls and some time before that happens. if you experience minor flactuation in ranking due to temporary downtime, it should come back up over time. you bought the site 2 weeks back so all the traffic stat you are looking at is provided by the seller. only believe in the traffic you are getting from your own server stat
well moving site to a new server do not have any impact on a website as such .......but if that server is not allowing you a good bandwidth or you might see that the speed of your website is fallen to some extent thus this will decrease your ranking as well as visitors.........you must know that now google will be ranking website on basis of user behaviour...........thus keep this in mind and optimize your website
