I have recently moved my site from servage to hostgator. So far I see a significant traffic decrease and I can't find the problem. The site loads a little bit faster for me now. What could cause this problem ?

2 days and a half have passed. The problem is that my old host is still up so I can still check the stats there. The old host receives now just 1 visit/ day so I guess the dns is not the problem.

actually the stats are updated 24 hrs, but the server uptime and first page load speed could be the major Killer of traffic, why don't you go for very fast server hosting company, i use a company which is highly appreciated and with the same price. I saw it's results when i moved from GODADDY to that company, no tensions at all. their customer care and all the ftp account are so fast. the link is in my signature.......

I'll wait and see what happens and I hope it will get up to normal. As far as I can see on this new host the site loads faster(at least for me) so this shouldn't be the problem.

Check out who is hosted on your domain name -- I forgot the link to that article/tool, as for the rest, wait for DNS to change over and then test different reasons for traffic drop. Maybe it just this week or maybe there are errors and server outages seen. I personally hate hostgator -- I love Just Host

The traffic is getting back to normal now. The stats are closer to the ones before I changed the host. I believe the dns change caused this problem. I didn't expect it to take this long.

After my site transfer earlier this week the amount of visitor dropped to nearly zero but in the last 36 hours it has leaped back up to what it was before.Panic is over but it is a nervous time for sure.
