    Announcment here:
    http://www.sixapart.com/movabletype/news/2005/07/announcing_movable_type_3.html

    There's a beta blog: http://www.sixapart.com/movabletype/beta/

And an already growing list of known issues: http://www.sixapart.com/movabletype/beta/2005/07/known_issues_in.html

It's meant to support older plugins - and in fact has better legacy support than 3.15 did. The anti-spam system is getting much better - as the MT-Blacklist author went to work for sixapart. Also, the multi-blog support is stronger, now with the ability to view and de-spam/edit comments from all blogs in a single window. There is a lot of new stuff in 3.2. I'm holding off for one more beta release before migrating, but it looks exciting!

No default RSS on different categories? That would be a shame, as this is a real strength in WordPress.

    It's a breeze to implement.

Step 1) copy your desired rss template from templates.
Step 2) Go to Blog Configuration->archiving, add a new category archive. Paste your rss template here.
Step 3) Set your archive file template to: <MTArchiveCategory dirify="1">.xml or .rss or whatever.
Step 4) Rebuild your category archives.

Not sure if 3.2 has them out of the box, but 3.15-7 does not.

Thank you for the pointers, but I'm still struggling. Would you possibly have a more involved tutorial? :)

    I think steps 1-3.

I can set up a new template, and set it up as an archive preference. But for some reason I stumble on getting MT to use the template for delivering a category-specific feed.

You want to set up a new category archive. If you go to configuration, there's a section on archives. You probably already have an existing category archive, so you can just add an additional one.

I'll put together some screenies and a tutorial mid-next week if you are still having problems. Big work weekend for me though.
