Move to a new server... how does this affect my SERP's?

    Hi Guys

Can anyone tell me how moving a site to a new server affect the site iro search engines?

I manage a very large site and about 18 months ago we had to move to a new server. Afterwards we totally dissapeared from ALL the search engines ... I am not sure if it was related but it was the only thing that changed at the time so seemed to be a possible cause. It took 6 months to get back to our enviable number 1 spot on all the major Search engines for our top keyword phrases. (The IP Address did NOT change, and there was ZERO downtime during the move).

The site has grown so much in the last 18 months we now again have to move to another bigger / better server. I am really nervous of that happening again. Can anyone advise whether moving to a new server really could be the cause of 'dissapearin'g' as we did last time or was that unrelated ?

I would be very grateful for any advice.
