many years of working with many people tell my gut most things, but there is no 100% right or wrong way. the only way you will stay safe in this world and not make mistakes is to wrap yourself up in cotton wool, & lock youself in your room, other than that you need to get out in it and in that you will make mistakes. What you need to understand is making a mistake is ok, if you get out on the edge and push your own boundries or the boundries of the project at hand do not expect a perfect ride but instead expect to learn lessons of both what is good and bad. how can you be a studend if you do not want to attend school. Not really! I know the main reason starting directory should be: "How can I really help", and I know that creating any business ONLY for the purpose of making money will eventually fail! My purpose in it is NOT ONLY making some money but It is still of interest to me how much money it brings to you? I still didn't get answer to this question! That is why I keep asking it! Everything in this universe is based on TWOs, so in order to estimate some data I need to have another data to compare to! Do not be listening to one who is to say be in it to help the World. Be in any business except charity to be putting food on table simple as anything. Peoples who are saying different are to be either bored peoples with nothing better to do than to be having no friends but computer keyboard. Surely it is money for all reasons firstly, second is to be for others.
Around and around in circles, there are many things that effect every part, just start a small test directory to learn from and test ideas, i could tell you about and how to put a car sideways at 100 clicks and keep the power coming on, but until you do it for yourself everything i say is just words.
Let's just say that anyone can be a link pimp (look here) but it takes hard work to build a directory.
