I droll over this site, one time I see close to 20,000 visitors when viewing on the "Who's Online".

Does anyone know who owns this directory and if he is a member of DP? The reason is is that he is using the same software i am using for wwws.org and I kinda wants some tips;)

I know Alexa is not reliable :), but not even DigitalPoint gets 20,000 online users maximum ever online is “Most users ever online was 2,974, Mar 6th 2006 at 4:02 pm.”

So these 20,000 online users is probably a software malfunction.

Yea... i wish there was a more stable measure of traffic. Hell, if someone can devise something like that, they'd be overnight millionaires. (hint for all dp gurus? :))

I do remember this site along with a whole bunch of others. I think they started a huge network and added themselves to exactseek. this was about a year ago. I remember because I saw the site and thought it was cool looking and wondered what it was running, and I *think* it was based on mambo, but not 100% certain.

Well if they include something like Alexa on IE and FF then you could have a real reliable tool.

But then we would be asking(hah no pun intended) for a collaboration between IE and FF... imagine the shitstorm that would create hahahaha

I submitted my websites last year, but not too many visitors from this directory. What I like is that your website gets a higher position in your category depending on how many hits you get (that's why is called "most popular sites"

About the traffic? uuhhmm I don't believe it.

Lmao! Sorry I couldn't help myself.

    I just checked now:
    Who's Online
We have 7785 guests online and 8 members online

When I mention that it was getting near 20,000 that was like 3 months ago and I noticed this like 7 months ago with atleast 11,000.

wwws.org is currently set up like that, but I only get 200 visit a day.

I just want to know how is he getting those visits, I have the same scripts and mine is free what the &@#%!

Online since Jan 2005 so the site is only 2 years old. Mine is 7 months old. I would like a little boost, say 1000 unique a day, I would be cool with that for now.

It is my site. I just saw this thread in my log files and had to go see why so many hits.

The "Who's Online" is a bit misleading - it is 30 minutes activity and includes spiders. But it is a unique IP count for any given 30 minute window.

I have never seen it at 20,000. Thats pretty good :)

Thanks. Will get to it ASAP too. We are always backlogged and thus require that now. Doing hundreds a day for negative revenue stream made no sense. :)

Sounds fishy, We have 11207 guests online and 20 members online... way too much traffic for a directory.
