I own a directory that can be configured for three payment options, in addition to Paypal -- Egold, 2co and Authorizenet. I don't want to sign up for all the services. Which are the most commonly used? Thanks.
Paypal of course... authorize.net has a setup fee of $299, they are a true merchant account. A better choice if you plan on doing a high amount of sales and don't want the clutches of your money primarily in paypal hands.
He writes "in addition to PayPal" so so he takes PP for sure. I would suggest, as 2CO accepts payments by PP too to take 2CO and e-gold. With those 2 processors (only 2CO and e-gold) you can then handle PP, real CC and e-gold. So this would be a good solution
I suggest you to go with Paypal and Moneybookers as both are widely used payment systems now a days. As you said you own a directory then allow people to select payment processor for payment there either paypal or moneybookers.
If you have the sales go for a real merchant account (authorize.net). The percentage deducted for sales is lower than for other payment systems, so you save money in the long run. There are probably services that waive the high setup fee if you opt for a longer contract period.
