I’ve been using Mambo for a while now and I have one major gripe. The text editor for it is way too clunky for a non technical user. I have a mambo site for my family and it get constant complaints about how there is virtually no control over the font size or style. Plus it is difficult to change one portion of the text format without affecting other formatting. Any suggestions? Is there a CMS suite that is more user friendly to the non technical user?
I've used Mambo, PHP Nuke and Postnuke. I find Postnuke very easy to deal with. With its autotheme module you can change the templates as per your needs with ease. I have developed some non 3 tables sites using postnuke without any problems.
Make sure to also check out opensourcecms.com to try out the various free CMS online. You'll probably find what you need that way. -Jon
Joomla now comes with OpenSEF mods, a bit complicated to understand if you dont read the tutorials but it's very customizable and more of, powerful ..
technically no.... I imagine that's why it hasn't been suggested... for most practical purposes though... yes... as far as being easy for a non technical user to understand I'd say it's the way to go, but CMS was specifically called out in the first post... so I didn't bring it up (although that was my first thought)
