Most Republicans - 87 Supported the AIG bonus recepients 85 did not.

.... but 85 fellow Republicans joined 243 Democrats in voting "yes." It was opposed by six Democrats and 87 Republicans ....

ONLY SIX DEMOCRATS SUPPORTED THE AIG BONUSES...

It was only this past weekend that the bailed-out insurance giant paid bonuses totaling $165 million to employees, including traders in the Financial Products unit that nearly brought about AIG's collapse.

AIG has received $182.5 billion in federal bailout money and is now 80 percent government-owned.

The bill would impose a 90 percent tax on bonuses given to employees with family incomes above $250,000 at American International Group and other companies that have received at least $5 billion in government bailout money. It would apply to any such bonuses issued since Dec. 31.

The Republicans can't seem to find themselves on the right side of anything can they? I thought they had a chance to get some political gain out of this one too, but I think they've shot themselves in the foot here.

What is their to post about other than your obvious lack of knowledge of what you're talking about. They were voting on a tax measure today, not on whether to award a bonus.

You should stick to defending Russian follies, at least you are familiar with that corrupt system.

Republicans shot themselves in the foot two ways with this (a bit of a setup job by the Dems actually... nicely done)

    1. 85 Republicans voted for a 90% tax.
    2. 87 Republicans voted to let the bastards at AIG keep all of their bonuses.

Republicans defend the tax cuts for the most rich. In this case they were perfectly OK to pocket the tax payers $$$$.
Sheer greed and stupidity, that's what the 87 republicans showed .. and they were the majority of the republican voters ....

If you're trying to blame this on republicans you're out of your mind.

This whole AIG bonus outcry is due to either one or all of 3 individuals..

    1) Chris Dodd

    2) President Obama

    3) "Silly Tim" Timothy Geithner

The democrats are trying hard to fix the mistakes they've created, only to find themselves creating more mistakes. If someone spills coffee on your lap, and then hurries up to clean it while somehow managing to spill someone's ice cream on you - do you want this jackass to hurry back and try to clean you up or are you going to say, "Enough! I'll clean off the shit you spilled on me, now sit down before something else bad happens."

And of course since the majority of America was brought up by the government they haven't learned patience or any problem-solving skills. Everyone wants things to be done *snaps fingers* now. It doesn't matter how the problem occurred, as long as something is being done to fix it. Rushing into problems full of emotions and thinking irrationally will get yourself killed in the real world. But to democrats, the real world is a cruel, evil place run by greedy capitalists.

In other words, democrats have a hard time facing reality because they're incompetent losers who want cheat codes for life because they're too lazy to figure anything out for themselves. Hope I cleared up any confusion here :).
