Hello I have a site setup with a sales page, and payment processing, etc, to sell an ebook I made. basically the problem is my budget is extremely limited. I have $10 in my paypal account. where would that best be spent? or is it not enough to do anything with... thanks
Sell on related forums (after you build up your reputation of course). Give out review copies (I will write an honest testimonial if you let me review it). You can keep the $10, as there are lots of free marketing methods.
$10 is low. I would rather try 10 ways with $10 each then limit myself to 1 test with only $10. Try to find other sites that might have a list and JV with them. Michael
spend the $10 on a beverage and get to work using all the free methods until you are convinced you should be spending money because you are going to make more money back
I just might do that I have been using the free methods, and I guess they are finally paying off! I got two sales since my first post. I think they came from an ad on craigslist, although I am not sure... google analytics is either slow to update or I am doing something wrong.
Keep the $10. Use all the free marketing method you can. My advise is, try to make it viral! make others sell for you!

First off... sorry to bring a dusty post up from the past. This was my first post on this forum. I just wanted to give an update, in case anyone finds themselves in the position I was in at the time. I followed the great advice of mokmeng, mikeyd and others. I wrote 5 articles and submitted them to 100's of directories (duplicate articles, learned alot since then). I made a couple sales within a few weeks, then nothing... for months... I forgot all about it, started making good money in other ways. Then today I checked an e-mail address I rarely use (it was the one the paypal payments for the e-book got sent to). I have made almost $400 in the last 2 months from this one e-book. And I am only selling it at $9 a copy. So, just wanted to let people know that bum marketing DOES work. But it is definetely a long term strategy. It is also important to point out that this is the ONLY promoting I did for this e-book and the entire domain it was on. No directories, nothing else.
I would probably try two things, both of them are free: 1) Joint Venture Find some experienced people in your niche, tell them about your e-book and give them an awesome offer. For instance, tell them that they will earn 70% on each sale. 2) Affiliate program This will make people sell the e-book for you. You could use ClickBank, CJ or any of the other directories. Some of them will cost money to set up, but it will be worth it and some of them are free. What's important is that other people will do "everything in their power" to sell your e-book. You won't earn 100%, but you won't have to do the marketing yourself. What is your e-book about? Jens
