What is the most powerful computer CPU out?

I think its INTEL Core i7 for desktop pc's...

Right now I think bulldozer from amd ,
a 8 physical core cpu,very very speedy and fast.

 

I think Intel core i7 3960X is the most powerful processor available which i know.

 

It's probably in the E7 family, maybe the E7-8870

intel core i7 is still the fastest performing processor on the planet.

 

It isn't the i7. You are all incorrect. It is the Intel Xeon E5-2690 @ 2.90GHz. It cost $2,000. It's a server processor though..

So vague... Which i7? Also, the E7 series are top of the line right now.

Nope... The E7-8870 should be, it's a ten core, 20 thread, I don't believe it's for sale to the general public right now though.

EDIT: You can also use a 'server' processor in a desktop/workstation computer, my next build is going to be a dual Xeon desktop

i7 Processor is the best Processor For your computer.

 

I think third generation processors are best CPU's that currently running.
