It's probably in the E7 family, maybe the E7-8870 http://ark.intel.com/products/53580...E7-8870-30M-Cache-2_40-GHz-6_40-GTs-Intel-QPI
It isn't the i7. You are all incorrect. It is the Intel Xeon E5-2690 @ 2.90GHz. It cost $2,000. It's a server processor though.. Benchmarks: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html ----- The Intel Core i7-3960X @ 3.30GHz is the most powerful CPU for a desktop computer. $1000 - It has a whopping 6 cores. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ntel-_-19116491&AID=10440897&PID=3962334&SID=
So vague... Which i7? Also, the E7 series are top of the line right now. Nope... The E7-8870 should be, it's a ten core, 20 thread, I don't believe it's for sale to the general public right now though. http://ark.intel.com/products/53580...-8870-(30M-Cache-2_40-GHz-6_40-GTs-Intel-QPI) EDIT: You can also use a 'server' processor in a desktop/workstation computer, my next build is going to be a dual Xeon desktop
