The Beatles definitely and I may see that tribute band "the fab 4" in Clearwater soon. But my fav has to be Pink Floyd. I remember tripping on some really good acid back in 87 for their Momentary lapse Of Reason Tour. Then again for 3 more of their concerts...
The Beatles were legendary. It's often said that each song on the White Album could have been broken into 4 different songs. Paul and John had way too much creativity in their hands.
Regarding Rolling Stones. Listen to 'Ruby Tuesday'. One of their first singles was a cover of the Beatles' 'I want to be your man'. Excerpt from a Garcia biography that describes the Beatles: "The Beatles were why we turned from a jug band into a rock and roll band," said Bob Weir (Founding member of the Grateful Dead). Kurt Cobain wrote 'About a Girl' after listening to 'Meet the Beatles' for three straight hours. U2 covered 'Helter Skelter' and performed 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' at the Live 8 concert in London. Eddie Van Halen was influenced by The Beatles. (There are too many rock musicians influenced by The Beatles to mention. Just Google it.)
