most likely very stupid question but...

    Hello everyone!

A friend asked me something that has had to be a really easy question but I just didn't know what to do. Here is the situation:

He has a few icons on his desktop that are shortcuts for his favorite websites (for example - one shortcut is pointing to DP forums and the other to Playboy :) ). If he clicked on the first shortcut the IE6 is starting and opening the site. This is not the problem, BUT if he clicked on the other one the IE6 is opening the site in the same browser window and he wants to open it in another instance, so he wants to have multiple IE6 windows to be opened.

For me this is really stupid question, but he is a real lamer (using IE6 without any wish to upgrade it to IE7 or start using another browser). What should I tell him besides "This is a stupid question", "Don't bother mi with that bull**it", "Upgrade to IE7 or start using Firefox", "I have some smarter job to do"...

    Thanks in advance! Cheers!

Oh, no! It is not a stupid question. He needs to modify IE options and uncheck the parameter that sounds something like “Use the same window for shortcuts”.

Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced ->

Under Browsing, uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts", its the fourth from the last under browsing above underline links.

    Hope I helped.

I've been checking for that but I couldn't find it. Iill let him know during the day and I hope he'll manage to check the box by himself :)

Thanks very much on quick reply!

You are welcome, just explain what I said to him one step a time and I am sure he will have no problems doing it.
