Just curious if someone copies the format or template for a forum such as same front page topics or discussions can i go after the the maker? But the problem is they are making money from it and im not. Does this mean i can go after them and take over thier site. Im using invision free (free hosting).

If you are just talking about the topics and not actual posts, you should just let it go.

"Does this mean i can go after them and take over thier site."

No, you don't have any rights to the site. You could send them a request to change the topics or even file a DMCA notice with their host - but there are potential liability issues with a DMCA if you are not talking about an exact copy, or a substantial portion of the entire content.

It's hard to say what your options are without seeing exactly what was done, but it seems like you should just concentrate on your site and not worry about the someone using the same topic headings.

I agree. Copying the categories of discussions is generally not copyright infringement.
