Most important stats of your site.

Sup all. sorry if this might sound confusing....
What is the most important thing you value about your site.
Like if you had to list all the things you are constantly checking out about your site. Whether it be, page rank, back links, site links etc...

Also what sites do you use to find this stuff. alexa, google
Are there other sites that can analyze your site like alexa or similiar.
I just really want to know what people are valueing in their sites.

I always watch a few things:

• Overall traffic: am i trending up or down?
• SE Traffic: am I dropping in the Google SERPS?(not sure what i would do if i do take a big drop)
• Bounce Rate: How can i make them stay longer?
• Average time on site: Are they hanging around?
• Incoming Links: Is my site interesting enough for others to link to it?
• PR: ..Gotta have bragging rights
• Earnings: That's what it all boils down to, right?

Daily Traffic, Unique Visitors is what I check most on a regular basis. Of course PR and backlinks are also important, but they only update after a few months, so they are less important. I also regularly check the number of new links coming to my site, my Technorati Rank (it is easy to track new links using Technorati also).

The most important thing that you should be worried about when it comes to your site is the unique visitors, the amount of pageviews per visitor on average and the bounce rate, plus also the main traffic sources.

For me its mainly how many new comments I get in my blog and what they say. For me it doesn't really matter if I get 1000's and 1000's of visitors; they could just be bots or people who found the site but doesn't find it interesting enough.

Seeing what comments are left makes it all worthwhile; you know there is something actually reading your stuff and replying to it meaning they actually take their time - and thats what really counts, providing a good base that people like and respond to.

 

I check my Statcounter stats most often. Everything from daily hits to keyword activity. I don't much care about Alexa Ranking, and it's enough to check PR once every three months...

 

I check traffic, bounce rate, average daily rate of posts.

 

Exit pages. Your home page ./ is going to have exits, but you should try to keep it below 20%.

 

Bounce rate, pageviews/visit, and where visitors go from the landing page.

 

I guess I look at unique visitors and page views pretty much everyday.

 

I check a few things on a regular basis:

1: Income
2: Backlinks
3: Traffic

I am also continously thinking of new ideas to improve and i'm going to be doing more SEO in the near future.

If these go up, I don't care if my site is PR 0 with no backlinks
