    Hello to all,

On-page optimization are the things that we take care when optimizing a particular website for its on-page. There are a lots of things we take care of like title tags, meta keywords, meta description, content, using Heading tags, bold tags, keywords placement, anchor texts, image alts, url-structure, domain name, proper navigation etc.

What according to you is regarded as the best thing that can make a site rank in top 10? Obviously all of them supports each other with regard to ranking. For e.g. using keywords only in title and not in content will be not of much use.If you want to choose one thing, what would that be?

Proper use of keywords in Title Tags
Proper use of keywords in Heading Tags
Proper use of keywords in Content
Proper use of keywords in Anchor text

In all my research of competitive sites for a plethora of clients, I've seen so many sites that don't do anything right but the content itself and get quality ranking - it's got to be, by far, the most important thing. Until google changes their algorithm.

    again.

I think most impact will have title tags. Think this way: you search something on google, and what you see first at search results? Titles, of course!
I am not saying other things are not important but title tags are most imp. ones.

Thats on of the reasons why dynamic sites are low at SEO...

I hear linking to other sites is good for SEO and linking to Google and Yahoo. Title tags are also very good for SEO. Make sure Google is grabbing the content you want it to as well.

All four are important and anyone of them can't be left to achieve good SERPs. In my experience google gives a lot of weight to title and anchor text :)

jitendraag : yeah all are important
salihpk: Image alts and link titles also have some value but I believe image alts are more useful if the image also have a hyperlink.

yes, title will serve its purpose only if the keywords used in the title are also available readily in the body.

And yet I'm going to say CONTENT CONTENT CONTENT. Without it, even if you have the best and most optimized title tags, nobody's going to stick around to do what you want them to do. They'll leave and never come back.

yeah I'am in total agreement that title is meaningless if the content does not contain the keywords that have been used in the title.

Also, Google will make sites rank in the top 10 if title has keywords which are somewhat majority in content.
If you are trying to rank for the keywords you have used in the content but you are using different keywords in the title. Then this will be useless.

Proper use of keywords in title tag only supports the ranking for the same keywords you have used in the content.

Most important factors for On Page SEO:

    1) Title tag (comparable with h1 heading).
    2) H1 heading (comparable with title tag).
    3) Content + proper use of keywords (i.e. not too many, only use your keywords when it makes sense).
    4) Semantic elements (strong and em tags mainly).
    5) Meta tags keywords and description (as of today they don't have so much importance as they used to have but still it's good to use them).
    6) H2 and H3 headings (these have already very little influence on SEO).
    7) Tags b, i, u etc (though I believe they have absolutely no influenece on SEO because they have no semantic weight).
    etc

Number 4 and number 7 are based only on my personal observation so don't they it as fact.

Content is what will convince people to return to your site. It will be what inspires another blogger to want to link to you. And when you do get the links, it will be what is likely to help your content and site rank better within search engines. Title is also important, but i prefer content is the most compare to others.

I reckon 'Content' of a page is the most important factor compare to "Title Tags". After content, Title Tags is the 2nd most important in terms of SEO. As Google always looks for How natural a website or webpage is, a page without a good content but having superbly optimised Title tags doesn't look natural at all whereas having good and informative content along with relevant Title tag is an ideal platform that supports Google algorithm.

May I get anyone's thoughts in this regard.
