When choosing a web directory to promote your site, which of these three weights more ((Google)Page Rank VS. Traffic VS. BackLinks) ? Please explain how do you check (which internet tools you use, url, search engines). PS: I recommend to check if the website is crawled by the most important search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask.com, IArchiver, Netcraft, etc). Have a nice day
Seoquake. I just see if it ranks high itself in the engines. Backlinks are a good way to check. Not bothered about PR much really.
I look for directories that are related to my niche or that have tight well edited categories. You'll do better with directories that have the page where you'll be listed indexed in the search engines. If you can determine that the traffic to a directory is coming from search engines (not just webmasters listing their sites) then those links are very valuable to your site because they give serious link juice and also a little bit of traffic.
Traffic is what nearly everyone on the net is looking for. So personally I think the most important factor when looking at a directory is traffic because search engines sending traffic to a directory is a validation of how the search engine feels about it. You should note that you cannot evaluate free directories with traffic for obvious reasons. Find a pay for review directory that still gets a ton of traffic and you have a legit directory... The thing is that most traffic rank tools are useless. I will also look at backlinks some of the times and use yahoo site explorer. pr - Personally, I dont think I could care less about it when choosing a directory to submit to. So in that order with a heavy emphasis on traffic.
