Well the site that im working on right now is a PR 2, and im earning an average of like .02 cents a day, so i dont know if i can justify more than just a couple hundred dollars to try and ramp it up
Getting a PR7 is a bit of work but if you have the resources its not that difficult. But really, as mentioned its only worthwhile if you want to sell links. Actually setting out with a goal to reach PR7 just to sell links is a poor business model and there is way more profitable and quicker ways to achieve a better ROI. Yeah if your site happens to end up with such a PR sell a few links to cover costs, but dont bother chasing pagerank.. Its so over rated its not funny.
well i see an average PR 7 link selling for $30 to $70 a month, times that by 15 and then all the subpages, you would be making a small fourtune every month, how much does it really cost to sustain a pr 7 site?
You can see more when you search with an at sign instead of link: like: @:bigweblinks.com It shows over 100,000 links.
First of all getting to a PR7 is going to take 6 month to 1 year min. depending on your site's current status. Secondly it will take thousands of dollars to buy high PR links and pay your SEO / Link builder. And this will be a continuing expense (links are sold on a per month subscription). Question is - are you willing to go on investing time and money without getting anything in return during this period? I would suggest you build good content and keep on linkbuilding till you can afford to spend this kind of money. More importantly, your investment should be justified by the returns. If you hope to make money by just selling links, its a bad business model (as sweetfunny said above). You should aim at getting a PR7 to get good rankings and get more traffic to your site (to sell more of whatever product/service you offer). Selling links should be just an additional income source and not the main source of income.
Yes but i dont really take on jobs just for PR building, the optimization and algorithm manipulation for rankings is where i concentrate.
Batman Using your own valuation of $70 a month for a PR7 link and selling 15 a month you are only going to get $1050 a month. You will have to spend time and probably money selling these links, so your profit per month will be below $1000 – not a bad amount in itself but not retirement money. However if you put the same time and effort into a site and gained the top spot for a keyword or two that brought you 1000 visitors a day you could convert this in to $3000 a month via adsense, affiliate programs and selling ebooks. It will take some time and effort but at the end of it you will have a business that you could sell if you wanted to turn a quick profit or could run and earn a monthly wage from it. Also the other benefit of running a business like this is you can see your progress on a daily basis as you rise up the SERPs and SEO’s have a more focused goal for your site and you can check that they are doing what you require. It can also be a self funding project, after some initial outlay from you the site should start to earn you a few $100 a month this can be reinvested in link building and SEO work, this in turn brings in a few more $ after a while, maybe 6 months to a year you are able to earn a living from the site. The final bonus is during the process your site has gained page rank and you can sell a few links as was your initial plan. Don’t give up on the idea, my advice is just to modify the business plan slightly. Good luck
This thread is silly? I don't evan think you can buy PR? it's just what Google does. w00t! 1,000 posts in 2months
Pagerank only updates once every 3 months on average. Unless you invest heavily you are highly unlikely to get a PR7 for 6 months. Do you think a business model that you invest for 6 months without seeing any returns is good? Then the income you recieve after 6 months isnt likely to be higher then your investment, plus you must reinvest in the domain to ensure it stays PR7 at the 9 month mark. Yet if you concentrate on rankings, drive targeted traffic you can be turning a profit before you even see a Pagerank update. Getting big PR and selling links isnt as attractive as it sounds after you have been there and done that. Its really just extra income and shouldnt be a goal you set out to achieve.
